Impact | On the Table
Community Foundation of Central Georgia is one of 10 community foundations across the U.S. participating in On the Table, a national initiative funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Throughout the Macon-Bibb County region, people participated in On the Table conversations in offices, parks, churches, schools, restaurants, and homes; over breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. In 2019, in partnership with the Twin Lakes Library System, On the Table expanded to Milledgeville.
From all walks of life and socioeconomic backgrounds, organizations, and individuals of all ages, shared perspectives on the issues and opportunities facing our region and made connections to support future collaborative action.
All registered On the Table participants were invited to complete a survey conducted by national public opinion research firms Hart Research Associates and Public Opinion Strategies. The online survey gives us a deeper understanding of the conversations held and what participants believe will improve our community.
Following On the Table Macon 2018 on October 17, 2018, a total of 782 adult and 82 youth participants completed the survey. A summary presentation of findings from the survey, along with a data exploration tool that allows the results to be sorted based on specific topics and demographics, is available below.
Throughout the Milledgeville-Baldwin County region, on October 30, 2019, nearly 1,000 people participated in over 100 On the Table conversations.
